Home Office & Storage Room Renovation

This renovation transformed an unfinished storage area into a compact yet highly functional home office - tailored for focused work and everyday practicality. The space previously featured exposed CMU walls and wood studs, with no finishes or lighting.

To begin, we fully insulated and finished the walls to brighten and polish the space. A new drywall ceiling was installed along with recessed lighting to create a clean, well-lit environment. New vinyl plank flooring gave the room warmth and durability underfoot. Electrical improvements included added outlets and a data jack for work-from-home functionality.

Key design features included a large custom floating desk and a smaller secondary desk with a waterfall edge, both from solid natural finish butcher block. A built-in perimeter storage system offers a custom look using off-the-shelf laminated shelving. These elements maximize workspace and storage while keeping the footprint efficient.

A new sliding barn door entry was added for access to the office, we also separated the under-stair space with a new access door at the rear of the office, retaining useful unfinished storage without compromising the finished office area.

The result is a thoughtful and cleanly executed conversion that proves even the most overlooked spaces can become purposeful and inviting with the right planning and design.
